The gardens are located at the beginning of the Mesopotamia Valley which is a rich agricultural area and surrounded by the central mountain range. This adds drama to the already awe-inspiring views of the park. The beauty of the gardens lies in the fact that it is somewhat unconventional. Most gardens are arranged in a formal setting. That is, plants are regularly pruned and trimmed. Montreal Gardens plays the maverick here: It is a controlled garden jungle. Guests are treated to a riot of colors and leaf shapes. It is common to have visitors liken the gardens to an enchanted fairytale. Indeed, many artists regularly visit the place to absorb as much elf-like light as they can – renew the artistry in their soul, as it were.

There are also formal areas located at the fringes; these are made even more special with the spectacular backdrop of the wild rainforest-clad mountains. Guests are asked to take a journey inside, with an emphasis on the word “journey” for truly, rushing through these trees and flowers would be to deny ethereal beauty. Many guests stop to take a picnic lunch among the several seating areas.

The Montreal Gardens is one of the highly recommended destinations of the island.
